Make Levi do a Backflip to Help Disadvantaged Kids Overcome Obstacles with Parkour

UPDATE: The fundraiser has officially ended. It was a great success having raised $1,647.57 for these kids. In the next few months I'll visit Seattle and document the impact of this effort.

The form is still open for donations if you want to help out. All donations will go towards this endeavor, however I won't be doing any more backflips.

Thank you all so much for your support! I performed over 100 blackflips all over the country. It was a blast!

1. When you make a donation to help fund Parkour Visions project to help disadvantaged kids to learn parkour, a text message will immediately be sent to my cell phone saying;

"James O says Do a Backflip!"

2. Then, where ever I am at that moment, I will do a backflip!

3. Then I will tweet about what happened, kind of like this;

"James O made me do a backflip at the post office! The people in line loved it, but the postal workers gave me a nasty look"

Fine Print: Of course if I'm driving on the freeway, or asleep, or saving babies from a burning building or similar I wont be able to do a backflip at that moment, but I will do "catch-up" periods where I'll do all the one's I missed in a series. Also I really want to make a difference with this project, so I wont be doing backflips for just $1. But a donation of $4 is nice, $10 could deliver a parkour information packet and DVDs to a crises center in need, $30 can provide a set of balance and precision trainers for indoor training, $150 means you're a baller and will sponsor 15 kids in a low-income apartment complex for an intro parkour class! 100% of donations go towards this non-profit project.

Instructions: Donate below to make a change in kids lives. You don't need a paypal account.

More Information About this Project

Through parkour, at-risk youth in Washington will improve their self-esteem and fitness by learning to run, jump, climb, crawl, and vault over obstacles, transforming their everyday world into an epic playscape.

Project Needs and Beneficiaries

Thousands of young people in Washington are homeless or from very low-income families who consistently fall through the cracks of society without support from a positive community. Many are missing out on their potential in life by not having anything to develop a passion for or to build goals from. This project will affect more than 500 at-risk youth from the lowest-income housing in King County, crisis centers in Seattle, and public schools in Tacoma's poorest neighborhoods.

Activities

Our classes use parkour basics to teach young people how to creatively use the environment around them to improve and challenge themselves. Lessons encourage pride in achievement, respect for training grounds, and responsibility in facing fears.

Why this Project is Important

Potential Long Term Impact

If you have the creative ability to turn a simple set of railings into a playground, a gym, and a public stage then you have the potential for lifelong physical and mental fitness. This is what parkour can build when taught correctly.

Project Message

Unlike with many sports there’s no perfect body type, and no one has any better ranking than anyone else. It’s not about finding the best people, it’s about finding the best in people.
